So here's the go with that show piece I keep rambling on about. The one that I'm going to show you on Monday.
There's 16 pieces, all roughly A4 size. The same size as the Kookaburra, Tortoise, etc.
And it's done with my usual, favourite combo: ink background, coloured pencil animal, with a bit of paint round the edges to keep the picture flowing.
I stole part of the shed on Wednesday and Steve helped me put it together with liquid nails. I was so stressed out that some irreversible catastrophy was going to take place and the whole thing was going to be wrecked. I got even more stressed out when we finally got it all together and the boofhead dog came by to say hello and barged into it and shifted a bunch of boards. And I kept checking on it all afternoon, just in case the world had tilted and the whole thing had shifted out of place, or something. Luckily with liquid nails you get some moving/fixing/destressing time.
It's a multi-layered thing. And these are all the parts. That's what all those little boards are for - to prop up the different layers. And Steve made an awesome shaped backing board and fancy metal hanging rack for it too. (He finally got to make something metal for my artwork, rather than getting stuck with wood all the time. Yay!) So, needless to say, I think it would be looking pretty dodgy right now if it wasn't for his assistance! Thanks Steve.
So if you hadn't guessed before, by the feet, it's a lioness. Ta daa. I plan to do her mate one day too. Maybe before the end of the year.
And hey, this is my 100th post, and I don't even have 100 comments to go with it. So say hi and let me know you're here!
